The Women’s Premier Soccer League is the largest national Women’s Soccer League in the world. The WPSL’s mission is to provide opportunities to further the women’s soccer game for the aspiring professional, international-level players and passionate amateurs.

Great soccer + great food! Baron Von Schwein (Lancaster’s Favorite Food Truck) will be at Hempfield HS Stadium for the Lancaster Inferno vs ACF Torino game. Show them your entry ticket and get $2 off your food purchase! The food starts at 2:30pm and game starts at 3:00pm.

Cost is $4 and kids 15 and under are admitted free if they are wearing their team’s soccer jersey OR an Inferno T-Shirt.

Spring is Around the Corner: Stay Warm With Thoughts of Spring Soccer!

The site is not well maintained, so you’re better off contacting the Weckels directly.
Unfortunately because of lack of promotion both the Open and Over-30 divisions have folded, but the Over -40s are still going strong with between 10-15 teams each season. Teams are located throughout Berks and Lancaster Counties. They have also offered Over 50 in the past, but I’m not sure about the spring. Spring season starts in April.

Adult Women’s Summer Soccer League – Register Now!

Women’s Over 25 League (Ladies Night Out!)- Beginning June 30 from 6:30 to 9:00 pm

  • Women of any ability may play.
  • Weekly games from June 30 through Aug 25 (note: there will be no practices, just weekly games)
  • Games will be played on Sunday evenings unless facility conflicts arise.  League has right to reschedule or change venue.
  • Games will be played at the Hempfield HS Quad – artificial turf fields , and possibly grass fields
  • Register as individuals or with a team.  Teams to be approved by the League Commissioners The registration fee is $75 per person and includes team t-shirt for each player.
  • Rosters and Schedules will be posted by 6/15.  Shirts will be distributed at the first game.
  • This is a recreational league only, slide tackling is not permitted, and may result in a red card
  • Excessive yellow cards and/or red cards may result in ejection from league with no registration refund
  • 1 referee per field per game

Philadelphia Independence to Host the 2011 WPS Semifinal: Saturday, August 20th

Philadelphia’s premier women’s soccer team, the Philadelphia Independence are set to host the 2011 WPS Semifinal on Saturday, August 20 at PPL Park, at 4 p.m. Philadelphia will face either magicJack or the Boston Breakers in the semifinal. The two teams will battle for the semi-final slot on Wednesday, August 17 at 7:30 p.m. in Boca Raton, Florida. Tickets for the semifinal match are on sale now and can purchased by calling the Comcast Tix call center at 1-800-298-4200 or online at http://www.comcasttix.com

Pickup – Changes and Additions

There are some changes and additions to our pickup page.

  • As we have mentioned before, summer pickup at Foundation Fields is finished for the summer. Look for it again next year though.
  • The Sunday pickup at Rapho Park has changed location to Lloyd H. Fahrman Memorial Park in Maytown.
  • New location: LAMS (Lititz Area Mennonite School) on Wednesdays starting after 6.

This weekend is a big weekend for soccer. The Harrisburg City Islanders, the Philadelphia Union and the USA Women’s National Team all play this weekend.
