The Lancaster Inferno https://www.lancasterinferno.net (a member of the WPSL soccer league – the highest level of women’s amateur soccer in the country), claimed their first victory of the season in a hard-fought 2-0 battle versus perennial powerhouse, FC Bucks.
The Inferno now claims second place in their division (of 10 teams) … vying for their ultimate goal — a championship in the 64-team Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL). https://www.wpsl.info
While a 2-0 victory seems decisive, the match was a close one, with both teams having many opportunities to score. However, goals by Lamm and Eyler (assisted by Sipe and Lamm) made the difference as the Inferno defense withheld the attacking FC Bucks forwards.
The Lancaster Inferno is comprised of many of the former high school soccer stars in the area — many currently attending top soccer colleges across the country. It’s your opportunity to see Abby Zielinski (from Manheim Township) playing on the same team as Kelli Joline (from Hempfield), who are joined by Jourdin Brill (sister of Penn Legacy coach Carli Brill) and many other standout athletes!
